Projects

All children at Crawforddyke Primary study a wide and varied curriculum. The main focus that each class will tackle is detailed in our school newsletter near the start of each term to promote home-school partnership. We hope that you will actively encourage your child to find out more about their main project each term by :-

  • Talking to your child about their project.
  • Helping your child select fiction and non-fiction books from the library or a bookshop relating to their project work.
  • Reading and discussing project materials with your child.

Our multi-disciplinary topics for this year are detailed below.

If you have any interesting artefacts or skills relating to any of the projects mentioned we would be delighted if you could share these with us.

Travel Plan

Mrs Girdwood JRSO's, Tasmin and Connor, along with Roads and Transportation Services are updating the School and Nursery Travel Plan. The move to the new school has changed some of the issues the original Travel Plan looked at. All parents, staff and pupils completed a survey which is being collated by the Roads and Transportation Department. Once we have this information we can interpret it to see which issues need to be addressed and what good practices should continue.

Money Week

Money week was held on week beginning 21st February 2011. All classes and the Nursery were involved in looking at aspects of Money. Curriculum of Excellence Outcomes were used along with activities and ideas from Learning and Teaching Scotland Financial Education team worked with our pupils P4-7 and everyone reported back at Friday assembly. This was a real showcase of their knowledge and fun they'd had learning.
