Crawforddyke ECO Committee

Our Story

Our Eco Committee, led by Miss Anderson has been working very hard on our Eco Action Plan. Here is what they have to say:

To start our journey, the Eco Committee completed an Environmental Review and decided to focus on the core topic of Litter, as well as Biodiversity and Global Citizenship. We were also asked to make links between our Eco Schools projects and one of the Sustainable Development Goals. We felt that most of the work we planned to do linked to SDG 15 - Life on Land.

As a group, they have already experienced a large number of successes with schemes such as Terracycle, tree planting, local litter picking and bug hotel upgrades! They have also involved the whole school in projects such as a food bank collection and raising money for our partner school in Uganda.

At one of their Eco Meetings, they reviewed our Eco Code and this has changed quite a bit (as the image below shows you!)
